Sex education adapted into a manga series

The critically acclaimed Netflix series, Sex education, only gets better season after season. It has won global acclaim with its diverse cast, bold storytelling, and fearless discussions on different topics regarding societal issues and the dilemmas of growing up. And with season four fast approaching, the comedy-drama TV show is getting its own manga adaptation, giving fans a unique take on Moordale High School. The first issue of Sex educationKadokawa’s Manga series has already arrived on July 15, available on Kadokawa’s Comic Bridge site.

Illustrated by Jean Tarachinethe manga series will also discuss how Otis, Maeve, Eric and others Sex education the characters navigate teenage life, bearing similarities to the original series.


Sex Education revolves around the story of Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), whose mother, Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson), is a recognized sex therapist, open to all discussions that have something to do with sexuality, gender and sex in general. Although Otis is embarrassed by his mother’s profession, he opens a sex therapy clinic at his school with the help of Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) and Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa), thanks to the knowledge transmitted by his mother about all sex.

The manga is something of a light in the tunnel and just in time after the sad news of key characters leaving the critically acclaimed series. Ola Nyman (Patricia Allison), Olivia Hanan (Simone Ashley), and Lily Iglehart (Tanya Reynolds) all previously announced that they would not be returning for season four.

Written by Laurie Nunn, Sex education has received positive reviews since its debut in 2019. The show has been a huge hit due to its mature take on commonly condemned topics like abortion, teenage pregnancy, sexuality and sexual experimentation among others . The popular series also stars Aimee Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, Dua Saleh, Sami Outalbali, and Chinenye Ezeudu.

No date has yet been set for season 4. The English version of the manga adaptation has also not been announced. But with the hit UK series getting the Manga treatment, it won’t come as a surprise if it’s getting its own anime production soon.
