Legrand unveils Nexpand, a data center enclosure platform

Legrand has unveiled a new data center cabinet platform, Nexpand, to deliver the scalability and scale-out architecture needed for digital transformation.

The flexible, robust and secure offer from the specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures is designed to house data center equipment.

In addition to supporting growing digital transitions, the new platform also contributes to Internet of Things connectivity, 5G services, edge computing and artificial intelligence applications.

Legrand explains that the IT cabinet offering meets current and future data center requirements, a result that has involved efforts from the company’s research and development department and numerous customer feedback sessions over the past two years. last years.

“Legrand’s innovations are based on providing solutions to our customers in the most efficient way possible,” says Saman Berookhim, Product Manager at Legrand.

“The Nexpand enclosure upholds this philosophy by providing a single, configurable-to-order platform that will allow our customers to easily adapt to their needs in a robust and configurable way.”

The Nexpand platform is based on four core values: intelligence, solidity, security and durability.

In line with its ‘Smart’ value, Nexpand’s interior is designed to fit three-dimensionally with a fully modular roof, providing more space and flexibility in managing top-of-the-bay infrastructure.

“Solid” refers to its light and strong doors in a load-bearing frame with a fully integrated locking and wiring system, which Legrand says is unique in the market.

Nexpand provides the highest level of security by interfacing with secure electronic door locking platforms, including high security cable management integrated into the door and tamper-proof door mechanisms.

The new cabinet has been built to ensure optimal airflow management to achieve its “sustainability” goals, resulting in a robust and energy efficient offering. Nexpand is also produced and assembled with environmentally friendly materials using an Environmental Passport Profile (Eco Passport).

With its adjustable accessories, components and ready-to-ship parts, the company is also able to offer shorter lead times and faster deployment.

Legrand offers complete products for the tertiary, industrial and residential markets using technological and societal trends with lasting impacts on buildings to improve living, working and meeting spaces with electrical, digital infrastructures and connected solutions.

With revenue of $7.3 billion in 2021, the company is also pursuing its strategy of profitable and responsible growth driven by acquisitions and innovation using an approach that engages all teams and stakeholders.

This requires the launch of a regular flow of new offers, such as products with higher value in use (highest growth segments: data centers, connected offers and energy efficiency programs).
